Families often ask which beach location is best for their session.
Both Orange Beach and Dauphin Island offer beautiful coastlines, but they feel a little different.
Orange Beach

• Beautiful sunrise and sunset light and expansive shoreline
Dauphin Island
• Perfect for local Mobile families as well as families on vacation
• More natural settings
• Fewer crowds and a slower pace

What beach sessions feel like with AFV Photography
Every beach session follows the same thoughtful process I use for all AFV family sessions.
That includes:
• Preparation guidance so you feel confident before your session
• Styling suggestions that photograph beautifully at the beach
• Gentle direction that never interrupts real moments
• Flexibility for kids who need breaks or movement
One thing that sets my sessions apart is that I always read the room.
If we’ve captured what we need and kids are starting to fade, we stop.
There’s no pushing through just to fill time.
Because preserving the experience matters just as much as the photos.
Beach Sessions & Investment
Beach sessions follow the same structure as all AFV family sessions.
That means the experience, preparation, and collections are exactly the same whether we photograph your family in Mobile, Fairhope, Orange Beach, or Dauphin Island.
The only difference is the location.
Your beach session will still fall under one of my three AFV family collections, designed to give families flexibility based on what fits their season best.
If your session takes place outside the Mobile–Fairhope area, a small travel fee may apply depending on the location.

Do beach sessions cost more?
Beach sessions use the same three AFV family collections as all other sessions.
A $100 travel fee applies to sessions in Orange Beach, Gulf Shores, or Fort Morgan. There will be no travel fee for sessions in Dauphin Island.
Which beach location is best?
Most families choose between Orange Beach and Dauphin Island. Dauphin island is great for families living in Mobile, as it's a short drive for beautiful beach images. Orange beach is also beautiful and a great option for local families across the bay or families visiting on vacation. If you're unsure which location fits your family best, I'm always happy to help guide that decision.
How long does it take to get our photos?
You will receive your images within four weeks from your session date.
Do you offer location guidance?
Yes, once booked, I will share a guide that includes location recommendations.
