Your Session Location Guide

Each location below has been hand-picked for what it actually does for your photos: the light, the feel, the space for your kids to just be. there's no wrong answer, but there is usually a right one for your family, and i'm happy to help you figure that out if you want to talk it through before your session.

Dauphin Island

Sunrise • Waterfront• Easy Access • Sunset

Family photo session at Dauphin Island beach during golden hour with family snuggling up

East End Beach

Best at sunrise

Easy to get to, easy to park, and full of variety once you're there. The rocks and dunes give us natural texture to work with, and the open beach means your kids have room to run while I do my thing. Mornings here are magic. The light is soft, the crowds are nonexistent, and the whole place just feels quiet and golden

Kayak Launch

Best at sunset

This one is all about evening light over the water. There are two boardwalks, some rocks for natural framing, and a beautiful sunset backdrop. It's relaxed, easy to navigate with little ones, and the parking is simple. if you're an evening family, this is a strong contender.

Bienville Beach

Sunrise or Sunset

If you are looking for lots of space, a new boardwalk, and that wide open coastal feeling — this is your spot. It's a little more of a walk to get to the water, but the payoff is an expansive shoreline with beautiful dunes that photograph beautifully in both morning and evening light. parking is across the street.

note: slightly longer walk to the beach — easy for most families, just something to keep in mind with very young toddlers or gear.

Mobile

Green space • flexible timing• city feel

Springhill College

This campus is one of Mobile's hidden gems. While I do take a few pictures around the oaks, the main focus is to  head into the open green space instead — more room to move, more light, and a lot more fun for kids who need to run around to warm up. It's lush and beautiful without feeling stiff, and the parking situation is easy. Ideal if you want that classic southern feel without the formal posed look.

Bienville Square

The most urban option on this list — a beautiful downtown square with a fountain, a gazebo, mature trees, and pockets of greenspace to explore. The tree canopy gives us flexibility with timing, which is a bonus on overcast days or when scheduling gets tricky. It does get busy on weekends, so if you're a Saturday family, we'll want to think about timing. Great pick if you want something that feels a little different from a typical outdoor session.

Fairhope

Waterfront • Green Space • Sunset

Gulf Coast family photography session in Fairhope with candid moments under the mossy oaks

Orange Street Pier Beach

A little bit of everything: a pier, mossy oaks, a stretch of beach, and greenspace that gives us a lot to work within a small footprint. This is a lovely spot for families who want coastal photos without committing to a full beach session. The mix of elements means we can move around and vary the feel throughout your gallery. parking is available around the park.

Colony Nature Park

If your family is the kind that needs space — like, real space — this is the one. Sweeping greenspace, stunning live oaks and rolling hills, and an expansive park that gives everyone room to breathe. It's a little further into Fairhope, but worth the drive. I love this location for families with big personalities or kids who need to just run around before they're ready to be "in photos."
